Someone asked me today if I was “getting ready for the holidays” and since I was at work at the time, I went over the things that we are doing here in the shop to prepare for the coming season.

• Interviewed for holiday staffing.
• Ordered extra supplies, parts and hard to find items for last minute needs.
• Contacted all of my suppliers to get Christmas cut-off shipping dates.
• Designed and printed my “holiday specials” flyers.
• Purge of old stocks and re-organised the back room for maximum FIFO inventory during the end-of-the-year rush.

So, it seems I am more ready for the holidays than I thought. Then the guy looked at me and said,

I just meant do you have any Christmas present bought yet?

Ooops.
